THE CHRISTMAS ROSE - ONCE UPON A TIME FANFICTION (Series Masterlist)

Summary: Once upon a time, in Storybrook, Maine, Lucy Reynolds was the town's florist. Smiling, bright, outgoing, stylish and lovely. All her friends and clients loved her. Working in her small family shop with the owner, her father, Erik Reynolds, she was frozen in time, doing the same things every single day. But she liked her little routine because she didn’t realize she was stuck in time, until things started to move forward again after 28 years. She didn't know who she really was. She had forgotten her identity and her past life, like everyone else in town. She had no idea she was a fairy tale character. And on top of all that, she had forgotten the man she loved, Jefferson, and their daughter, Grace.

But Jefferson? He remembered everything. What he didn't know was that his wife, who he thought had passed away a few years after the birth of their daughter, was alive and well, working in a cosy shop in Storybrook. For 28 years, she was kept from him, hidden in plain sight by Regina’s curse.

Jefferson Imagine - I missed you

Summary: The curse on Jefferson made sure that he could only watch Y/n from afar, with her voicwe constantly in his mind. But one day Jefferson decides that he had enough of his and he takes the matter in his own hands.

His eyes fixate on her, following her like a magnet. It became part of his routine. First, watch Grace before she went to school than watch Y/n. When Grace would come home he would watch her until she went to sleep and then watch Y/n again. While she had no idea of his existence, he was fully aware of hers. It was part of his curse. He knew everything from their life, but she didn’t remember a single bit. Same for Grace.

But at least he could watch them. Although, he didn’t know if that was a little blessing or part of the curse. it was the worst when she was upset. He just wanted to hug her like before. And tell her that everything was going to be okay. But he can’t. It’s torture, really. To sit and watch your loved ones hurting, and there ain’t a dawn thing you can do about it. Yet, seeing her and not doing anything is better than not seeing her at all.

Jefferson stirs in his tea while he watches Y/n sitting in her garden. She is also drinking tea. It’ s part of her routine. Wake up at 8, have a cup of tea, read a book, have breakfast at 9:30, go to work and return at 5. Then have dinner and go to sleep. Jefferson adapted to the routine so that he would do things at the same time as her. To feel closer to her. Yet the small brick wall dividing them never left. Sometimes glass took its place, but there was always something between them. He thought about going outside. Maby he could do that. But he never did. He was too scared, to broken, to angry, to sad, to everything! 

And there he found himself, not even knowing how. One moment he was sitting with a cup of tea, and now he is standing with one foot outside his door. He quickly steps back inside and throws the door shut. “ Stupid, stupid, stupid! “ he yells at himself. “ What’s wrong? “ he could hear you say. His hands fly to his head. “ Get out! Get out of my head! “ he yells. That was always part of the curse, your voice in his head every moment of the day. His bottom lip is shaking. This curse needs to end. He knows it, he wants it. He needs it to stop He just wants to hold you, and Grace. God, he wants it. So there he goes again. Opening the door and walking to your house. His head is spinning, his stomach is cramping up. Yet, he feels so free. Free to be outside.

You look up from your book when you hear someone approaching you. You see a man walking, he seems familiar. Yet unknown. A scarf is wrapped around his neck. His clothes look old and dirty. Those new fashion trends are getting weirder by the day, you think. ‘ Can I help you? “ you ask as you lay your book on the table next to you. The man nods. “ I..umh...I-I’m Jefferson, I live next door.”.

Y/n smiles, something that makes Jefferson’s heart melt. “ So you're the one with the worst garden in whole Story Brook,” she says. Not as a question, but as a statement. Jefferson scratches his neck. “ Yeah...”. He looks at your Y/E/C eyes. They were perfect, warm, kind, inviting. The suited you. A thousand thoughts run through his head. Yet he only gets a hold of one. Curses can be broken with a kiss. With that, he grabs your face between his hands and gives you a kiss. A passioned kiss. A kiss to give you all the love he had to hold back for so many years.

He was expecting you to run away screaming, but you don’t. You just lay your hands on his neck, playing with the fabric of his scarf. When he pulls away for air you look at him. Eyes big as some kind of fog that was laying on them disappears. They twinkle again. God, he missed the twinkle. “ J-Jefferson? “ you ask. Without giving him time to answer, you pull him in for a hug. His chuckle rings in your ear. All those years of being under a curse get clearer now. 

“ W-Where’s Grace?” you ask, looking around you for your daughter. “ I wanted to get you first,” Jefferson says. As he softly strokes your hair. “ I missed you...” he mumbles. Y/n nods. “ I missed you to......Hatter.....” she says.
